The Companion for Life Project
Companion for Life provides personal emergency response equipment that will summon help when it is needed. This equipment supports the continued independence for seniors and disabled individuals living in their home by improving their safety and sense of wellbeing.
Description of Services
When an individual experiences a fall, a medical crisis, or other emergency, every second counts. If they are alone, delayed medical care or assistance can jeopardize recovery or independence. With a simple push of a button, our trained Response Associates provide fast and caring assistance, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Mission & History
Originating as a pilot program of the Seniors Council in 1989, the Companion For Life Project rejoined the Seniors Council in 2015 after 25 years of independent operation to insure the best possible delivery of services to our local elders. The goal of the Companion for Life Program is to provide a locally based medical alert service at the lowest feasible cost to all individuals who desire continued independence at home due to failing health or other factors.
